Spay It Forward

About Spay It Forward

Since inception in 2022, Longview PAWS in partnership with the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center offers our ongoing "SPAY IT FORWARD" initiative to help cover the costs of spaying and neutering owned pets at participating Veterinarians in Gregg County. For more information on SIF voucher qualifications and how to receive vouchers, please read below. To help us continue our efforts, consider a Donation to the PAWS & Effect Project.

Spay It Forward Voucher Information

The Spay it Forward program is eligible for all households with an annual income of less than $50,000 and covers $100 towards spay or neuter services at participating veterinarians. Applicants must be residents of Gregg County or a City served by the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center including Longview, Kilgore, Gladewater or White Oak.

Eligibility & Requirements on Vouchers

  • 2 Vouchers per HOUSEHOLD every 6 months for Gregg County residents.
  • Expiration date is NOW 3 MONTHS from issue date. If Vouchers expire, residents will need to reapply for assistance.
  • Vouchers are NON-TRANSFERRABLE. Name on the Voucher must match the name on your Appointment.
  • Vouchers are ONLY for OWNED ANIMALS. They are not to be used for rescues or fosters for rescues. If you are using our SIF Vouchers, you are accepting responsibility for that animal and will be linked to it in our system.

  • Residents requesting assistance will now be required to complete an application to obtain Vouchers. Residents will come to the shelter's adoption lobby to complete the process. There is no application on-line or over the phone. It is an IN-PERSON interaction only. The shelter is open 12-5 PM Tuesday thru Saturday.
  • We are requiring Income Verification for Residents requesting assistance. Our Household Income threshold is $50,000 annually. We will not make copies of your financials- we will only review for verification. Acceptable forms of documentation are: most recent W-2s or 1099’s, current pay stubs (1 consecutive pay periods- recent), last year's completed tax return or bank statements (2 consecutive months)
  • If a Resident is requesting financial assistance and they currently are receiving government assistance- Social Security, Disability, Medicaid, Medicare, we will send you with a flyer informing you of the HSNETX Jarod B. Sanford Endowment Fund. Per flyer instructions, Residents must call APL directly to schedule appointment and verify qualifications. This needs to be YOUR FIRST STOP in getting financial assistance.
